Joan Arbery is a 5th year doctoral candidate in the Ph.D. in Literature Program. After working in Dublin for a year as the Field Day Intern, she is returning to Notre Dame to complete her dissertation, "Remembering Purgatory -- The Redemption of Aesthetics in Urban Life."
